Communication Interfaces
DASTEC Corporation has years of experience in the development of communication tasks and drivers for interfacing SCADA packages with various hardware and software controllers. These communication tasks and drivers can be direct interface tasks developed using a particular SCADA package's device driver API or general interface using industrial standards methods such as ActiveX, DDE, OPC etc.

Interfaces allow access to controller data over serial links, open network links such as Ethernet, priority network links using vendor specific interface cards, etc.
Custom Functions and Tasks
In addition to communication interface expertise, DASTEC has extensive experience in developing special processing functions to extend a SCADA package's capabilities. The special processing functions have been implemented within a SCADA package, using its built in scripting language and inherent tasks such as database access, recipe, scaling, etc. The processing can also be implemented using a particular SCADA package's custom API, creating an integrated, configurable and reusable SCADA module that conforms to the package's configuration environment and rules. Finally, the extended functionality can be implemented using industrial standards methods such as ActiveX, DDE, OPC etc.

Extended functions range from simple thing such as data sorting to elaborate data management involving database access and complicated data calculations.
